I look at life through a lens tinted with cynicism. I am thrifty with money, hence very much depriving myself of material fulfilment most of the time. And I think that paying >RM10 for a cup of coffee or a cone of ice-cream is absurd. Happiness comes from having ample time to stay in bed and read/write. I detest pop trash of the latter day and have turned to alternative rock/rock for solace. And I like creative writing. :)

Everything went really great today.

Well, not everything.

For one, my skin decided the wrong time to start peeling off. It didn't go well with the make up.

Another thing, that eyeshadow-chum-glitter make up hurts like shit.

That's all I guess.

The rest

was fantastic.

I think.

Cheong Lum did his solo so well that the first thing my mum said when she greeted me home was "Ei, I love your Sailor and Sea!"

Band exchange was sorta...well, uneventful. Cheong Lum was heart-broken because nobody approached him and said anything about his solo.

Then flocks of girls that recognised him from school bands were like oohing and aahing over him. So much that he got so scared of them.

"Ee Lin, wo men zao lar..."

So happy to see Simone in the audience. Thank you for coming!!!

Anyway, too tired to blog. Will update the detailed, illustrated one.

After trials.

Or, shall we say, after pmr?

Time and Tide

I set up my clarinet and practised yesterday night.

And realized that

I'm so going to die during performance today.

Maybe I should just sit there and goyang kaki.

Not a bad idea, actually.

For one, I'll just help the band out with the long semibreves and trillings.

My trillings suck, too. Wow.

I regret not practising hard enough.

Why is it so hard, you wonder?

For one thing, one of my songs looks like this.

Ladies and gentlemen, Songs of Sailor and Sea, by Robert W. Smith, in C-cut

Sailor and Sea is my favourite song. Energetic, melancholic, furious, majestic...if only I had practiced hard enough!!! The percussion is so creative. Imagine chains, rice, green beans, timpani edges as your percussion kit! ARGH. Regret regret regret.

On the other hand, I havent even finished 1/2 of my sejarah syllabus. Moral...can screw that lah. Who studies for moral for PMR??

Even my mother (PK 1 of SMJK Confucian) actually thinks Moral is rubbish.

ANYWAY.

Reminiscing the good ole times I had during my 8 month old stay in Galaxy Chamber Orchestra.

my 1st debut performance. New Year gongyo meeting. Songs : Dae Jang Geum, Ode to Joy, Liberi Fatali (FF VIII), Animation Songs Medley

angels of peace: Dae Jang Geum.

half of my woodwind family.

May GCO concert. My 2nd performance.

that life-changing experience: 3 days performance, Perak Culture Festival, June 10-12, 2006.

We actually appeared in Nanyang Siang Pau the next morning. ^^

Clockwise: artistic dance KL, GCO KL and 2D choir Ipoh, indian dance Ipoh, Junior Group Ipoh.

the boys in Klang Culture Centre. I was among the audience. ^_^

last, cheong lum, song yeu.

Okay, now off to pack my bag and head off to BK for...

MUSIC: THE LIFELONG JOURNEY!!

Please pray hard for the band and our soloists. Cheong Lum, don't screw up your solos k! You have like, 4 solos to play?? Mind you, oboes make the most ridiculous sounds when it come to screwing up. Bad thing (and also good thing?) is oboe solos are usually so beautiful that it can make you break down and cry.

p.s.: U can listen to 2 songs we're playing tonight over here. do be patient and let it finish buffering before listening, or it'll ruin the entire thing. = (

A good friend of mine turns 18 today...

VINCENT! YOU'RE GUILTY!!!
I know. It's a bloody ugly pic. That's why I chose it. xD
Okay, so it's All Praises Day. Vincent Kok is a very, VERY talented musician. He is currently studying in Malaysia's Institute of Arts, and has recently been accepted into the Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra. His field of music is the flute. He is unafraid to try new things, or, specifically, new instruments. He is always willing to share with you anything you do not know about music. He is willing to teach, and also willing to learn.
But Vincent, you have a lot more to learn about ego. Bitching around with the conductor is not a healthy thing you know, but I can see you have grown out of that shell. =]
I look up to you as a wonderful flautist, and as a beloved mentor. You are one of a kind.
Happy birthday, fei zai. =)

FYSB rehearsal

So long never had a real practice (real practice= fun + laughter + energy + learning something new =), finally a good break after the first half of trials.

Couldn't find transport for us to cheras, so called Song Yeu to cancel practice, gosh he sounded so sleepy "haaawwwloorrr, oh, hello...oh, so cancel lar? then zhi lin? ooowww, ooowwwkaaay, mm, buh bye."Then went back to sleep. 9.30pm Johan woke me up saying he was going to cheras at 10.45pm. Yay!

Reached around 11.25pm. Went to GCO room, met Chin Choon, Ming Sshen, Wai Yip, then Johan hollered at me from canteen that Song Yeu was in canteen. Oops, hehe...set up my clarinet, then went to canteen. Aah, sifu was there. Kena wagged finger at, but everyone knows ah Yeu don't scold people wan...xD

Practised Sailor and Sea. Still tak boleh, sigh. When am I going to master it???

Ate lunch, photo of my lunch companion, or, more precisely, his hair.

PEOPLE, STPM is not good for you. Wei, song yeu, go dye your hair black lar!

Then went to IPA. Wah, super hot lar...what happened to the air-conditioning? Thats what I hate about rehearsals. ARGH. Performances are so cold that the humidity in your clarinet just dries up, but when rehearsals it's like a humanoid oven.

Went for full run. Then sit back watch the ensembles do their thing. While waiting...

zekee with crap-dat-clarinet-is-so-dem-chun Yeu's clarinet. the subject was supposed to be the oboe, but it ended up the hands. Don't they look just like a girl's hands? Because they aren't. They belong to...

mr. wong cheong lum! Argh, finally caught his ah soh face on camera!

I find this pic sort of obscene.

teng jun is freaking pregnant! *no fakes here*
ming sshen catching a wink.
poor yeu's reaction when he stubbed his foot on the leg of the chairs.
yeu loves his shirt. i love it too. so cool!
I love my GCO family.
eelin. out.

SGM TWIRLERS IN CONCERT: DANCE & I

The whole show was dem chun lar. Kudos to those angels of peace! Job well done!!!

Anyway, the whole lot of us went to makan at lee mei's parents stall. Then at 6.45pm we left PJ (when we were supposed to reach at 7.00pm...), reached around 7.15pm. Looked around desperately for Chun Siang, my GFG mate and the one holding my ticket. No ticket, no show. In the end, when I thought I was the one late, it was he who arrived at 7.45pm pulak. =.='

Got a great seat in front thanks to Ah Kam the violinist and Siang Gie the bassist! Had approx 6 extra seats in front, which was supposed to be reserved for GCO members but they found their own seats anyway, so invited Chun Siang and family over to sit with us (since he's so kind to give me a ticket =D).

The show started good. The emcee didn't sound prepared. =/ Anyway, the concert has a storyline, but I can't seem to follow it because the LCD was just too far away. Nice dance, nice music, energetic dancers...once again congrats to the twirlers!

Intermission. Went around bugging people, then went back to my seat. Started a debate with Chun Siang and Siang Gie about my age, whether I was really 15 years old. Then he (chunsiang) started asking everyone around him (eg: mum, sis, friend, kk member, gco member) what was my age. =.=' and you know what? he actually won the debate. Everyone though I was form 4, form 5, finished college, everything BUT form 3.

He demands to see my IC tomorrow in BK during my practice. =.='

Anyway, the dances continued. Finally it ended with a big bang with the best part, FINALE! Hehe, it was great lar, great job done!

michelle yeoh, happy belated bday!!

leemei!
and finally, the indebatable chun siang. dem poser lar u.

Friday, August 18, 2006

Came back from "band" practice around 11.45pm. Reboosted my energy with good ole milk-campur-milo, then sat down to study for my Science and Chinese. Ran out of midnight oil at 12.45pm.

Bad mistake. My first attempt at burning midnight oil was foiled. Why? Well, my alarm clock is the mosque near my house. Guess what? I slept so deeply that I didn't hear the 5.45am prayers, I slept through it until 6.30am. Woke up, panicked, sped to school.

Screwed up my chinese, especially my calligraphy. Somehow I found this new technique of writing...right in the middle of my exam! Tried to apply it immediately, failed terribly. My once-pride-of-my-chinese calligraphy turned out to be like shit. S.H.I.T.

After that, Simone sorta feel sick. Period pain. Went to library, couldn't find her. Got pass from Pn Monica and Pn Yong, then with Grace went to:-

1. find Simone, who seem lost in school somewhere.
2. get rekod dimerit book from Shzen Yee.

Ran around school like donkeys. Found Simone in library pulak. =.=' Then accompanied her to 5 Batai, where Pn Daljit was. She decided to go home after all, which means she missed science. Haih, by the time we returned to class it was like 5 minutes to exam. Screwed up my Science also lar. Haih. "Cause you had a bad day,..."

Went back, slept (for the first time in MONTHS), tuition. Went home, celebrated the beginning of the hols by watching *drums roll* SAMURAI X: REFLECTION!!! Hehe, got it from Pamela, who also lent me Howl's Moving Castle. Anyway, that show rocks lar, one of those shows where you cry so hard that you SOB. Poor Himura...poor Sanosuke...I love KENJI! HE'S SO DARN CUTE! But cannot beat his father lar, hehe...

All hell break loose beginning: TOMORROW.

1. PD trip.
2. FYSB rehearsal.
3. study, study, study!
4. FYSB concert!!!

BM 1, BM 2

I DIED DURING BM TODAY.

BOTH PAPERS, BY THE WAY.

WHICH MEANS I DIED TWICE?

okay..

SO

I DIED TWICE TODAY.

AND I'M GOING TO DIE ANOTHER 2 TIMES TOMORROW. WHICH EQUALS TO 4 TIMES.

AND ANOTHER 2 TIMES FOR SCIENCE.

OMIGOD.

anyway...

after paper 2, chilled out a little with li yeong, then dan (my bro) and khai ming, ate a lousy lunch because I was kinda sick of canteen food. Then went to library. I stayed back exclusively (and sacrificing precious "catching up with him" time -___-) to revise my maths. Because my math is bad. Very bad.

and guess what?

An unbelievable phenomena happened.

My eyes closed against my will.

My head fell onto the past year question I was doing.

And I snored.

OMIGOD.

My brother. My mother.

Woke up, and it was already 8.00am. Erm, oops.

Studied my Science (finally back on track!), then went up to my dad's comp. Which reminds me...THANK YOU SO MUCH NEAL! YOU'VE BEEN A GREAT HELP!!!

Night: GCO practice again. Came early. Met Yeu, Vincent, Alan. Went with them for makan at mamak. (mental note: never sit in song yeu's car again. it's a wonder how he passed his P.) Talked nonsense for an hour. It was then I looked at Song Yeu's shirt dengan lebih teliti... MBSKL Librarian Board 2004?

Me. Song Yeu. Vincent.

"You're a librarian?"*in disbelief*

"Yar..."*arches eyebrow at me.*

"You don't look a single bit like one." *still in disbelief*

*Vincent taps me on shoulder.* "Actually I was also a librarian leh...haa...haa..."

"...serious ah?" (o_O)

"I got important job wan you know..."

"Hmm?"

"I cop the reading program wan you know. If I like you then wah, I pass you. If I don't like you, hehehe..."

*eyebrow twitching, wondering what to reply.*

Unbelievable.

We were late by 8.00pm. (mental note: never sit in song yeu's car again...have I mentioned that?) Prayer, then set up, flew over to FeiYang (no pun intended). Died in the Sea. Graffiti...not bad lar. Then we had persembahan from The Gloria Ensemble. Dem nice, for sure can win that RM8000 this Saturday! Gambate!

Since I'm so bored now and refusing to study...

the good ole days...dont mind the caption. I screenshot"ed" this one.
above: the good ole days again...oh the humiliation... see the beauty queen wave? my skirt almost fell off on the runway. They wanted me to take off my shirt underneath...SIAO AH?!

and guess what? Yours truly won the Miss GFG title. Result was unanimous. Yes, unbelievable. Mr. GFG was Huang Yik. See the delighted faces of my group? *points above* Clothes designer: chun siang. Makeup artist (buncho paint, actually): kailing, michelle, gaik chin.

the beauty pageant. That was my reaction when the judge raced forward and pulled me out. See me? In the middle? Bah, nevermind.

Gosh, how I miss GFG camp. Now I understand why GFG has always been so exeggeratedly diheboh-hebohkan throughout the years. "You were selected for GFG? I salute you wei." "Wow, you're a GFGer? That's so cool..." "Ei, what they do in there ah? I heard they're very good..."

Now I know lar.

I'm really tired of seeing black and white little alphabets in lines on white paper, so I'll just intro to all this show that's currently being aired on 8tv at the moment.

It turns Audrey and I into crazy, squealing lil girls on Tuesday mornings.

It turns us into squealing lil girls routinely every Tuesday that it becomes a routine to scream every Tuesday, that when Nigel saw Audrey coming to me this morning, he went...

"Oh, Prison Break. Yell! Scream!"

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Yes, the phenomenal show that is so exciting that my mother actually went, "Hey, 10.30pm already leh, why not watching that botak guy show?" And my brother corrects, "It's called Prison Break."

the subject of our conversation during 2 periods of science every tuesday.

guet cheng: "what? prison break again? NOOOO..."
sigh...wentworth miller...

Back to studies.

OOH...the HAZE...the haze!!!

It's so bad that my eyes are smarting and the veins leading to my head pounding so hard because of my haemoglobins combining with carbon monoxide instead of oxygen. So it's back again? ARGH...

I hate math lesson. I don't blame the teacher for her (your-english-pronounciation-is-worse-than-elementary-school) pronounciation. She's tried real hard. And she's pregnant. You ill inconsiderate peepz out there just yack and yack away like nobody's business. Like she's the wall or something. Have a little consideration lar. Put yourselves in her shoes. Would you want your students to treat you like a wall???
