I look at life through a lens tinted with cynicism. I am thrifty with money, hence very much depriving myself of material fulfilment most of the time. And I think that paying >RM10 for a cup of coffee or a cone of ice-cream is absurd. Happiness comes from having ample time to stay in bed and read/write. I detest pop trash of the latter day and have turned to alternative rock/rock for solace. And I like creative writing. :)

Time and Tide

I set up my clarinet and practised yesterday night.

And realized that

I'm so going to die during performance today.

Maybe I should just sit there and goyang kaki.

Not a bad idea, actually.

For one, I'll just help the band out with the long semibreves and trillings.

My trillings suck, too. Wow.

I regret not practising hard enough.

Why is it so hard, you wonder?

For one thing, one of my songs looks like this.

Ladies and gentlemen, Songs of Sailor and Sea, by Robert W. Smith, in C-cut

Sailor and Sea is my favourite song. Energetic, melancholic, furious, majestic...if only I had practiced hard enough!!! The percussion is so creative. Imagine chains, rice, green beans, timpani edges as your percussion kit! ARGH. Regret regret regret.

On the other hand, I havent even finished 1/2 of my sejarah syllabus. Moral...can screw that lah. Who studies for moral for PMR??

Even my mother (PK 1 of SMJK Confucian) actually thinks Moral is rubbish.

ANYWAY.

Reminiscing the good ole times I had during my 8 month old stay in Galaxy Chamber Orchestra.

my 1st debut performance. New Year gongyo meeting. Songs : Dae Jang Geum, Ode to Joy, Liberi Fatali (FF VIII), Animation Songs Medley

angels of peace: Dae Jang Geum.

half of my woodwind family.

May GCO concert. My 2nd performance.

that life-changing experience: 3 days performance, Perak Culture Festival, June 10-12, 2006.

We actually appeared in Nanyang Siang Pau the next morning. ^^

Clockwise: artistic dance KL, GCO KL and 2D choir Ipoh, indian dance Ipoh, Junior Group Ipoh.

the boys in Klang Culture Centre. I was among the audience. ^_^

last, cheong lum, song yeu.

Okay, now off to pack my bag and head off to BK for...

MUSIC: THE LIFELONG JOURNEY!!

Please pray hard for the band and our soloists. Cheong Lum, don't screw up your solos k! You have like, 4 solos to play?? Mind you, oboes make the most ridiculous sounds when it come to screwing up. Bad thing (and also good thing?) is oboe solos are usually so beautiful that it can make you break down and cry.

p.s.: U can listen to 2 songs we're playing tonight over here. do be patient and let it finish buffering before listening, or it'll ruin the entire thing. = (
